Handaxe with unusual asymmetric cross-section, mentioned by Bowes (1). NB there were numerous gravel pits open in Sturry area at various times in the first half of the 20th C, best summarised by Dewey & Smith (2), and this site is not the same as "Homersham's New Cutting".
