Edwards Brickworks (also known as St Stephen's Brick Works, as shown on 1938 OS survey, 1:2500), Canterbury had c. 5m thickness of brickearth overlying c. 6m of gravel according Dewey & Smith (1, 2). No lithic artefacts are reliably known from the site, but it is possible source of some flint artefact finds attributed to "St. Stephen's Pit", which is generally taken to refer to another pit about 1km to the west (this latter also known as 40 Acre Pit), see TR 15 NW 40.
