In 2008 Wessex Archaeology carried out a survey that located a wooden wreck in the Kellett Gut. In 2009 this site was surveyed in detail. It is c.30m x 10m x 2.2m. It was previously buried in sandbanks and may have only recently become exposed. A patch of at least seven elongated objects, likely to be wreck timbers or cannon have been identified 97m west of the main structure. (1)
