An earthwork survey of Cobham Hall park in 2002 by the Birmingham University Archaeological Field Unit recorded lynchets in close proximity to the Roman villa site. On this basis, they were described as possibly forming part of a Romano-British field system across the area. (1)

These features follows the line of an tree lined avenue shown on the Russell 1718 map and the MALSC 1719 map of Cobham Hall Park. Available from Medway Archives Reference Nos. U565/P3 and U565/E743.
