Built sometime between 1846 and 1865, it is a two-storey dwelling though the lower storey was probably used as cellars or storage space. In 1899 it was referred to as the Foreman's House and this was likely also the original function. It was occupied after the works closed in 1936 until the 1990s. (1)

The building was vandalised and fires damaged the structure. The structure was roofless when surveyed in 2006. It was modified with a modern bungalow built across part of the site. The surviving portions of the building were surveyed and drawn. (2)
