Monument details

HER Number:TR 36 NW 47
Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible late Bronze-early Iron Age enclosure, Hartsdown, Near Margate

Summary

Cropmarks previously identified near Hartsdown. During an evaluation of the site in 1995 the inter-connecting sub-circular enclosures were found to contain small quantities of late bronze - early Iron Age pottery sherds. The lack of archaeological material across the site led to the interpretation as cattle pounds or similar.
