Summary

Neolithic flint implements including flakes, scrapers and cores were previously found near Dumpton Gap in Broadstairs. The quantity and character of flints was tentatively identified as indicative of a settlement. No further discoveries have been made and it is not known where the finds are now located.

Clinch found near Dumpton Gap, Broadstairs, numerous Neolithic flint flakes scrapers and cores "of a character and under circumstances which point to the probability of this having been a settlement". (1) Neither the exact position of this site nor the present whereabouts of the finds could be ascertained during fieldwork. There is no record of subsequent Neolithic finds from Dumpton Gap which is now almost fully developed. (2) Additional reference (3)
