The arboreal character and rural quality belies its urban situation within a district of residential housing, alongside the busy London Road. Avenues of mature beech, oak and sycamore screen the east and west aspects and merge into a woodland walk on the slope beyond the cricket pitch. This is the setting for cricket on a summer's day, and makes Grove Park one of Sittingbourne's most popular recreation grounds. The Grove Park, Key Street, Sittingbourne, was donated to the town by Mr George Andrew about 1900. Features avenues of mature beech, oak and sycamore screen the east and west aspects. (1)
