Summary
Four Anglo-Saxon inhumations were found about 0.5 mile West of the main cemetery site (TR35SW1). One, oriented North-East to South-West and accompanied by a small iron knife, was discovered in the face of a chalk-pit in the garden of a house in The Mill. Three further unaccompanied burials, similarly oriented were found 100 yds to the South. The sitem lies on a gentle north-east facing Chalk slope. OD 30-40m.

TR 303 544 An Anglo-Saxon cemetery at Eastry. Four burials were found about 0.5 mile W of the main cemetery site. One, oriented NE-SW and accompanied by a small iron knife, was discovered in the face of a chalk-pit in the garden of a house in The Mill. Three further unaccompanied burials, similarly oriented were found 100 yds to the S, suggesting a large cemetery. Possibly not part of the Eastry community, but the site of an adjacent settlement.
