A group of Almshouses which were constructed pre-1866, with alterations c.1880s-90s, are apparent on the western side of York Street on historic OS mapping. There are at least 23 houses centred around a courtyard which opens onto York Street on the eastern side. Demolished sometime between 1957-1962. (1-2)
