Summary

Erosion of the cliff at Minnis Bay in 1961 revealed a chalk cut grave containing an inhumation burial. This comprised a skull with 3 large nails about it, the remains of a drinking vessel and a patera. Thought to date to the 1st century. The finds are held in the Powell-Cotton Museum, Quex Park.

Erosion of the cliff at Minnis Bay in 1961 revealed a chalk cut grave containing a probably 1st c. AD inhumation. This comprised a skull with 3 large nails about it, the remains of a drinking vessel and a patera. The finds are held in the Powell-Cotton Museum, Quex Park; find spot at TR 2964 7005 pointed out by Miss Powell-Cotton. (1-3)
