(TR 24306900 sited from Isle of Thanet Arch Unit S.M.A. map diagram). Site of battery. Cropmark shows natural watercourse. To the north of this an ephemeral crop, which does not show well on aerial photographs has been observed. Mr R. Tapp who has flown over the site on a number of occasions made a sketch showing concentric circles c.30m across. This could be the trace of the battery and watchhouse supposed to have been located nearby in the 16-17th century (1). Site photograph (2-4).
