Monument details

HER Number:TR 26 NE 109
Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible Deserted Medieval Village at Gore End Farm, Birchington

Summary

Gore's End is listed in the county gazetteer of deserted medieval villages by Maurice Beresford and John G. Hurst (eds). This book lists 69 places for Kent but in most cases there is nothing to prove that there was a village at the sites in question. A deserted church site or isolated church certainly does not prove the existence of a deserted village.
