Probable winged villa; rectilinear field boundaries are probably recent (3,4). TR 287683. Cropmarks show the remains of a Romano-British building. A minor rescue excavation in 1980 found boundary ditches and pits (see illustration card) (5). (TR 28706830 sited from Isle of Thanet Arch. Unit S.M.A. Map Diagram). Cropmark of probable Roman building. Cropmark and scatter investigated in 1980 and tentatively indentified as the remains of a small Romano-British building framed by ditches. A sectioned pit contained 1st-2nd century sherds. This site is not endangered by the agricultural process, since downhill drift has covered it in an overburden of more than 0.6m.
