In 1936 a Jutish inhumation was discovered in the back garden of 'Homestead', Bekesbourne Aerodrome, which is centred at TR 2002 5550. The present occupiers know nothing of the discovery. It was accompanied by a bronze brooch with ring and dot ornament, a string ofbeads and a Jutish bottle, since lost. The brooch and beads are in Canterbury Museum (Acc Nos 7515-6). The burial is clearly an outlier of Bekesbourne cemetery [cf TR 15 NE 1]. (1) Additional bibliography. (2)
