Anglo-Saxon Silver Spoon found c.AD 1864 [NAT] (1) A silver spoon, which "is a genuine piece of Teutonic art probably but not certainly of Anglo-Saxon origin, and of a date somewhere about 500 AD," was found in a field on the opposite side of the Canterbury-Dover road to the Halfway Inn, "about sixty years ago" ie. c.1855. (2) No further information could be gained during fieldwork. (3) Additional bibliography. (4)
