A Roman burial group of c.150 AD was found 29-OCT-1953 at TR 21343661 in the foundations trench for a stand at Folkestone Football Ground. The group which comprised a necked jar (containing the cremation), a narrow-necked vase-shaped pot in grey clay and a Samian dish of Campanulate form with up-turned rim, is in Folkestone Museum. No futher discoveries have been made during subsequent excavations in the same area. (1)
