An inhumation was discovered on 24th June, 1960 by workmen cutting a trench for a gas pipe across Pound Field, Church Street, Whitstable at TR 11696642. It lay E-W with the head to the E, at 2 feet depth. There is a trace of charred wood. The skeleton was destroyed, but Mr. Harvey retains the skull. (1)
