Summary

Possible Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery indicated by three inhumations, one accompanied by a spearhead, found by chalk diggers in Bursted Wood, Bishopsbourne, in 1749. In 1751 beads and a glass patera were also found.

Faussett notes 3 skeletons with their feet to the north and a spearhead found by workmen in Bursted Wood, Bishopsbourne, in 1749. In 1751, 13 coloured pottery beads and a glass patera were found in the same place. Chadwick lists the site as an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. (1)(2) No further information. (3) Additional bibliography.
