(TR 148572) A drawing of a Roman urn 6.25 inches high, with a globular body and narrow neck, which had been found by a railway labourer in the cutting [TR 148572] below the Dane John, in the grounds of Ivy House, was exhibited at the Society of Antiquaries, London in 1860. The find spot was examined by JB Shepherd who found the remains of a grave, black soil, sheep bones, fragments of glass, black pottery tiles and oyster shells. (1)
