(TR 14825736) Bastion [NR]. (1) The wall between Riding Gate and Wincheap Gate has been much restored probably 1956-62. The semi-circular bastions, much restored, stand to their full height. (2) Tower No 3. One of five towers preserved between Worth Gate [TR 15 NW 187] and Riding Gate [TR 15 NW 141]. All are semi- circular and open, with a battered ashlar plinth built against an earth revetment. All contain gun ports but may not have been built until the late 15th century. (3-4)
