Several Roman bronze brooches from Stowting (TR 1241) are in the British Museum, including one Hod Hill type (early 1st century AD), two late 2nd/early 3rd century types and four crossbow brooches with heavy knobs (4th century types). (1) No further information. (2) Two Roman brooches from Stowting, both in the British Museum, are illustrated in the Guide to Roman Antiquities. One is trumpet shaped, Collingwood Group R (early 2nd century) Accn No 1904.6-28.2, and the other a bronze P-shaped brooch of developed crossbow type, Collingwood Group T (2nd-3rd century) Accn No 1904.6-28.5.
