[TQ 494 408] On the Kent Water below Prinkham farm is a pondbay with some slag. (1) Centred at TQ 4941 4084 are the remains of a pondbay which formerly spanned the floodplain of the Kent Water. S. of the stream it has been almost completely ploughed-out. Large lumps of forge cinder are to be found here and there below the bay at TQ 4942 4088 but the exact site of the forge cannot now be determined. Surveyed at 1/2500. (2) TQ 494409 Prinkham Farm Forge, water-powered not included by Straker. Bay 185m long. Height upstream 2m, downstream 2.6m. Only the portion south of Kent Water survives with three gaps. Water system. Pond dry. North gap in bay may indicate spillway: remaining two possibly wheelpits. Working area. Small amount of forge cinder. (3-4)
