Summary

A number of second century Romano-British pottery sherds were found during work to lay a pipeline at Chilham in 1962. This assemblage was identified as the remains of cremation burials and a quantity of burnt bones were also found. It is not known where these finds are now located.

Second century Romano-British pottery, associated with `several cremated burials' found at TR 07455343 in May 1962. The pottery was dated by Mr Frank Jenkins. (1) The finds, made during the laying of a pipe-line by council workmen, comprised burnt bones and pottery sherds. Most of them were thrown away. Find spot surveyed at 1/2500; q.v. TR 05 SE 5. (2)
