Summary

Three kiln sites are reported to the north of Lenham Forstal. They showed as areas of brick shards on the suface. Test pit revealed there was considerable damage by the plough. No pottery found but sections of square (in section ) pilasters, glazed by frequent use with a greenish ash glaze. Kilns were situated on a bank near a stream and on the border of Folkestone sand and gault clay.
