NW of Kingsgate.Pillbox [Sector 7]. Cassini ref 833889

This structure was mapped from military aerial photographs as part of the SE Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. It was first visible and has been mapped from aerial photographs taken in January 1941 [1]. It is still visible in April 1946 [2] and is gone by April 1950 [3].

The square building thought to be the recorded pillbox measures 3.4m by 2.8m and is located close to the cliff edge overlooking steps that lead up from the beach.
