(TQ 59185498) Beech Wood Hole (NAT) (1) Neolithic interments in Beech Wood Hole. Many neolithic relics including pottery. [Harrison (3) does not give the site the name Beech Wood Hole, but Rose Wood. He describes the find spot as a very large hole of the Rose Wood series. Finds include a Neolithic Celt and pottery]. (2,3,4) The site is at present under a hay crop, and was not visited. The owner of the field, Mrs Poulton, "Orwell", Back Lane, Ightam, beleives the finds were made during gravel digging but can offer no further information. They are not noted by Piggott (a) and thier present whereabouts is unknown. (5)
