TR 084306. Orgarswick is named as a lost village. The parish of Orgarswick had 6 people in it at the 1801 census. (1)

Orgarswick was so poor that it was exempted from taxation in 1384. The church (TR 03 SE 5) fell into decay in the first half of the C16th. (2)

No trace of a DMV was observed in the vicinity. (3)

TR 084307. Orgarswick. Listed as a Deserted Medieval Village. (4)

Maurice Beresford and John G. Hurst eds. Deserted Medieval Villages, 1971, list 69 places for Kent in their County Gazetteers of Deserted Medieval Villages. In most cases there is nothing to prove that there was a village at the sites in question. A deserted church site or isolated church certainly does not prove the existence of a deserted village. (5)
