Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1820 to 1989. A smock mill which was built in 1820 by John Holman for the grinding of corn. The mill, built of brick and weatherboarding, was heightened in 1856 so the base was now two storeys. The mill Ceased work with wind in 1922 and work finally stopped altogether in 1940. The mill has been restored recently and was returned to work in 1992

SARRE CANTERBURY ROAD TR 26 NE (south side) 1/115 Sarre Mill (formerly listed 11-10-63 as Wind Mill) GV II
Windmill. 1820 for John Holman of Canterbury, heightened 1856 for Thomas Holman. Timber framed and weather boarded on tarred brown brick base. Octagonal plan, of smockmill type. Gambrel-roofed cap. Sweeps and fantail missing (removed to Cranbrook). Boarded doors to north and south with flights of wooden stairs. Being restored at time of re-survey.
