[TQ 9182 5290 and TQ 9182 5292] Two deneholes are situated near the north east corner of the wood to the north west of Pivington Farm, Lenham. They are close together on the line of a hedge which formerly stretched from the corner of the wood to the parish boundary. One of the pits still preserves its original shape and is about 27ft. deep. (1-2) These deneholes were filled in during the war when a dummy aerodrome was constructed, and only very shallow depressions remain. Published 25" survey revised.
