Monument details

HER Number:TQ 92 NW 1
Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible moat, Owley, Wittersham

Summary

At Owley there are the remains of a suspected moat although little trace of this makes indentification difficult. It has been suggested that the large ornamental lake before the house, though probably artificial, could never have formed part of the moat. The house has a Georgian facade but is of no especial architectural interest.
