Summary

A Roman jar was found on salt marsh near South Yantlett Creek in July 1961. It was identified as a late 1st century AD narrow-mouthed jar in grey ware. It was found complete except for part of the rim. Now thought to be in store at Maidstone Museum.

Late 1st A.D. Narrow-mouthed jar in grey ware with slight cordon at base of neck : complete except for part of rim. Casual find by River Board employee, in July 1961, from approximately TQ 8190 7060 In store Maidstone Museum. Acc. No. 39/61 (a) (1). Additional reference (3) and site photograph (4).
