Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1300 to 1802. Now St John's Almshouse. The Mediaeval hospital was founded in 1426. It was apparently refounded in 1546 as an almshouse. The present building is 16th century, restored and altered in 1802.

Description from record TR 13 SE 12 :
(TR 1640 3484) St John's Hospital [NR] (1) High Street (S side) No 150 (St John's Hospital). Grade II. (No 150 High Street - sited to TR 1640 3484 from OS 1250 1984). Founded in the C14, but the building dates from the C16 altered in 1802. The facade has the latter date on it. (For full description see list). (2) The almshouse of St John, Hythe, was founded in 1546. Archbishop Parker in 1562 calls it the hospital of St John of Hythe having eight beds for the needy and poor and those maimed in the war. (3) St John the Baptist, Hythe. Established in 1426. (4,5)

2. Founded in the C14, but the building dates from the Cl6 altered in 1802. The facade has the latter date on it. 2 storeys ashlar with stone galleting. Hipped tiled roof. Off centre chimney-stack. 3 pointed windows and a decrease dating from the alterations. The west side of the building is tile-hung. Nos 150 to 156 (even) form a group. Listing NGR: TR1640134823 (6)
