The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 1614 (West Side) Bligh's Hotel TQ 5354/1/47 13.4.51 II 2. C16 framed structure. 1.2.1. window facade. Stucco elevation with large over-sailing gables to right and left connected in centre by ridge tile roof. Over-sailing gables supported on comer timber brackets. Centre portion of 1 storey with 2 gabled dormers. Ground floor with 3 splayed projecting bays containing sash windows with pilastered mullions and moulded entablature head to end bays to right and left. Modern panelled door with side lights. Door and centre bay window with ornamental projecting canopy over. First floor with sash windows with moulded dripstones over in centre of gables to right and left. Centre one-storey feature with ridge tile roof with eaves and gutter and 2 gabled dormers containing sash windows in moulded frames. All sash windows with glazing bars. Cobble stone verge to pavement in front of hotel with ornamental posts and chains. Hotel name in centre over canopy in raised metal letters.

In 1994 a survey on cellars in the Sevenoaks area was undertaken. Bligh's Hotel High Street was found to have the entire floor area taken by the cellar. Under original building arch and tunnel between sections of cellar. (2)
