The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 1614 (East Side) Claridge House TQ 5354/1/3 II 2. C18. Symmetrical 1.5.1 window facade, of 2 storeys with centre slighly projecting. Projecting modillioned eaves and gutter with ridge tile roof with end stacks. Supporting recessed wings either side with hipped tile roof and modillioned cornice at lower level. Large modern dormer in centre. Modern rendered elevation with red brick plinth. Large projecting Edwardian porch in centre with modem double doors. Sash windows through- out in recessed frames with glazing bars intact.

In 1994 a survey on cellars in the Sevenoaks area was undertaken. Claridge House, 4 High Street was found to have the entire floor area taken by the cellar. (2)
