Summary

A chapel may have once been located on the site of Malmaynes Hall Farm. In 1303 permission was granted to build an oratory or chapel at Malmains, because it was so far from the parish church. However when a c.early 18th century house at Malmaynes Hall Farm was recently demolished, it showed no evidence of incorporating any earlier work. No further evidence of a chapel is known.

[Area centred TQ 8164 7548] In 1303 Sir John MALMAINS obtained permission to build an oratory or chapel at MALMAINS, because it was so far from the parish church. (1) Malmaynes Hall Farm, a house of c.1700 has recently been demolished. As far as could be ascertained it incorporated no earlier work. (2)
