Description from record TQ 54 SW 35 :
Penshurst Gatehouse and Gateway leading to Penshurst Place and also to Well Place [Building shown at TQ 52814381 on O.S. 1: 10 000 1971] 10.9.54 Listed Grade II Mid-late C19 lodge of 2 storeys, one window. Tudor arched gateway. Probably by George Devey. [Architectural description]. (1) Lodge, by the roadf to the North West. Dated 1840. Gothic. No doubt by J B Rebecca. Walls of Penshurst Place East of Penshurst Cottages, continue at right angles via a Tudor-style Gateway and Lodge by Devey but incorporating old work and a datestone of 1662. (2-3)

2. Mid-late C19 lodge of 2 storeys, one window. High pitched tiled roof has chimney with diagonal brick shafts. Red brick walls with stone dressings. At left screen wall with gable above Tudor arched gateway. Small entrance between. Cast iron gates. Probably by George Devey. Listing NGR: TQ5280843817 (4)
