[TQ 88806507] Bobbing Court, the manor house of Bobbing, was an ancient residence and stood almost adjoining the south side of the churchyard. It has long been pulled down but the foundations remain. (1) The site indicated by Hasted is occupied by a school and there is nothing else to be seen. The owner of Bobbing Court (a) is of the opinion that the old house stood near the farm at TQ 88636481, where c.1947, flint foundations were found and where there is still a late 17th/early 18th century gateway. Worked ragstone has been found in the orchard at TQ 88706487 (b) but there is no record of foundations at this point. (2)

In 1999 Museum of London Archaeology Service carried out a watching brief on the construction sites for the pub, Travel Inn and McDonald's. In this area a number of traces of an 18th century farm complex were encountered during these works. These buildings appear on historic Ordnance Survey mapping. Below these were some remains that could have been of medieval date. A possible pillar pad and some foundations may represent buildings. A packed chalk and mortar floor was also seen in section. Six possibly medieval worked stones were recovered from an 18th century cobbled surface. If these are medieval, it suggests that the medieval building had been demolished by this date. (6)
