All 4 sides recessed, tle front bowed with 1 window. Diagonal corner projections, defined by pilasters hold tiny round windows. Other windows small-paned sashes under gauged brick arches. Overhanging eaves rest on wood posts at sides. 6-panel door under elliptical gauged brick arch. (3) The remarkable one-storeyed lodge to Broughton House is opposite Dunton Green church. White brick, square pyramidal roof and central chimneystack. The plan however is not so simple. The side to the road is convex, the other side recessed between diagonal corner projections, that give the roof its chamfered corners. Broughton House itself, also of white brick, c.1830, is much less spirited. Five bays by three. Two storeys. Portland stone for the paired Ionic columns of the porch, the plain top cornice, and the window surrounds, the lower ones with prim triangular pediments. (4)
