The following text is from the original listed building designation:
DORSET STREET 1. 1614 (South Side) Nos 8 & 8B TQ 5354/1/55 II GV 2. Late C18. Gabled elevation with bowed front. 2 storeys and attic gable window. Ground floor with Victorian shop front with centre glazed door and entablature band above with shop sign. First floor bowed with painted grooved boarding in imitation of stone couvses. Centre sash window with glazing bars. Flat fronted gable above oversailing to right and left with mock vertical half-timbering and centre attic casement. Covered yard entrance to right of shop with first floor faced with pointed grooved boarding in imitation of stone courses. Centre casement. Eaves and gutter. Ridge tile roof.

In 1994 a survey on cellars in the Sevenoaks area was undertaken. 8 Dorset Street was found to have the entire floor area taken by the cellar. (2)
