The following text is from the original listed building designation:
MOTE PARK 1. 5278 Stone Pavilion in Mote Park TQ 75 SE 11/145B 30.7.51. II
2. 1801. A circular temple of Portland stone of the Trianon Temple de L'Amour type. Consists of a circular central building with 3 high doorways in moulded architrave surrounds with a colonnade of fluted Doric columns around it. These columns support an entablature with triglyph frieze and a domed stone roof. Round the architrave is the following inscription "Erected in 1801 by the Volunteers of Kent as a tribute of respect to the Earl of Romney, Lord Lieutenant." The pavilion is placed so as to be viewed at a distance from the windows of the house.
