Summary

A 13th century lead seal found at Walters Road, Hoo St.Werburgh in 1977. The inscription reads: Seal of Thomas le Bot, with Lombardic Es and H and a Roman M. There is a central eight foil design on the face whilst the back has a plain projection across half the diameter.

[TQ 7808 7267 - 14 Walters Road] (1) On loan to Rochester Museum is a lead seal found by Mr J V Tree of 14 Walters Road in the garden of that address in July 1977. The diameter of the seal is 7/8in and the height is 5/16in. The inscription reads: Seal of Thomas le Bot, with Lombardic Es and H and a Roman M. There is a central eight foil design on the face whilst the back has a plain projection across half the diameter. Dated to the thirteenth century (2) and site photograph (3).
