Summary

Remains of a medieval or post medieval timber framed barn. Originally an aisled barn with 6 bays: all the aisle posts have now been removed on the north side. There is also a modern corrugated-iron roof and modern brick side-walls. Previously thought to be a medieval barn, a survey in 1994 suggested that the barn dates to the late 18th century. Scheduled as an ancient monument.

TQ 705639 (shown on plan at TQ 70526398) Remains of Medieval timber framed barn with a modern corrugated-iron roof above tie-beam level and modern brick side-walls. Originally an aisled barn with 6 bays; all the aisle posts have been removed on the north side. (1) Scheduled listing. (2) 1994 survey suggests that the barn is L18thC rather than Medieval in date. Is is rather fragmentary and truncated at the E end. The immediate agricultuarl context of the barn has disappeared.(3)
