[Marginal] Fragments of about 60 Roman urns with burnt earth, ashes and calcined stones were found at the head of a stream called "Busty" and "Shode" to the west of Patchgrove Wood, Ightham. (1-2) Local enquiries failed to locate the source of this stream. The finds could have been made in Buckwell field (site of the Ro, pottery found c.1835 - see TQ 55 NE 2) where a stream feeding the Busty issues from a pond.(3)
