Description from record TR 15 NE 175:
No 23 Burgate [TR 15065781 sited from OS 1/1250 1972]. Grade II. A 16th to 17th century building refaced in the 18th century. (1) Timber-framed core. Brick refacing, 16th or 17th century. (2) Trenching in the cellars of 23-24 Burgate revealed pits of RB-PM date. (3)

2. A C16 to C17 building refaced in C18. Late C18 facade. 4 storeys yellow brick. Stone coping. 4 sashes with glazing bars intact. Wrought iron shop bracket. Early C19 shopfront with reeded pilasters Central doorcase has rectangular fanlight. Nos 23 to 37 (consec) and the Christchurch Gateway form a group. Listing NGR: TR1506457818 (4)
