Summary

Grade II* listed building. Main construction periods 1400 to 1980. 15th century to 16th century timber-framed building on a stone base, refaced with red brick on the ground floor and tile-hung above. Hipped tiled roof with pentice to part of the north front. Two storeys and attics. Casement windows. The original portion has 2 windows and one hipped dormer facing south-west and one window facing south-east. To the north-west is a modern addition making an 'L' with one window facing north-west and one window facing north-east. The interior contains an inglenook fireplace, arched braces and a solar with chamfered beams.

(TQ 92344746) Tram Hatch (NAT) (1) 5272 CHARING BARNFIELD ROAD Tram Hatch TQ 94 NW 10/77 GV II* C15 to C16 timber-framed building on a stone base, refaced with red brick on the ground floor and tile-hung above. Hipped tiled roof with pentice to part of the north front. Two storeys and attics. Casement windows. The original portion has 2 windows and one hipped dormer facing south-west and one window facing south-east. To the north-west is a modern addition making an 'L' with one window facing north-west and one window facing north-east. The interior contains an inglenook fireplace, arched braces and a solar with chamfered beams. (2) TQ 923475. Tramhatch, Charing listed as a moated site in the additions to the county checklist of the Kent Manorial and Moated Sites Group of 1979. The moat was partly filled in October 1979. (3)
