A building survey was carried out in 2005. The cowshed was described as being of late 18th century date. A date of 1767 and the initials WD (those of William Deedes, then owner of Ruffin's Hill) carved in stone above a door in the south-east wall are therefore probably associated with the date of construction. The building was extended in the late 18th or early 19th century and in the 19th century was used as stables. The building reverted to housing cattle 'in recent years'. (2) (3)
