[TQ 74595447] Bronze Age flanged axe dredged from river in 1916. (1) TQ 7459 5447. On display Maidstone Museum is a palstave, with a semi-ovate depression immediately below the stop-ridge, dredged up from the Medway in 1916. (This palstave was described initially in the Maidstone Museum Gazetteer as a flanged axe; there can be little doubt, therefore, that the flanged axe referred to by Authy.1 is in fact this palstave).
