In the early 1960s two buildings were found beneath the course of the modern A2 and associated drainage works. The first (building B10 in the source) was of first century date and contained a crude mausoleum containing child burials and a corn drying kiln. The second (building B12 in the source) was mostly destroyed during the drainage works. The building was constructed of flint and contained a coin hoard of 450 silver and three gold coins. (1)
