Summary

During evaluation work in 2001 an apparently man-made surface was found made up of large well-sorted flint cobbles covering an area of about 5m in diameter laid over wood peat. No datable finds were found, but the stratigraphic position (the depth) on top of the peat is similar to that of wattle structure found nearby.

During evaluation work in 2001 an apparently man-made surface was found made up of large well-sorted flint cobbles covering an area of about 5m in diameter laid over wood peat. No datable finds were found, but the stratigraphic position (the depth) on top of the peat is similar to that of wattle structure found nearby (TQ 67 SW 289).(1)

Location accurate to 5m based on available information.
